FOLLOW THE LEADER

(TOPIC: LEADERSHIP & TEAMWORK)

Instructions

  • ALL BUT ONE IN A CIRCLE, ONE STUDENT IN THE MIDDLE. THE MIDDLE     STUDENT CLOSES HER EYES, AND THE REST OF THE GROUP QUIETLY     CHOOSES A LEADER.

  • MIDDLE STUDENT OPENS HER EYES AND TRIES TO FIND THE LEADER.

  • THE WHOLE GROUP FOLLOWS THE LEADER, IN EVERYTHING HE DOES. AS     SOON AS THE MIDDLE STUDENT FINDS OUT WHO THE LEADER WAS THE     ROUND IS OVER, AND A NEW PERSON GOES INTO THE MIDDLE.

  • THIS ONLY WORKS IF MOVEMENTS ARE CLEAR, NOT TOO FAST, AND IF THE     GROUP ’FOLLOWS THE LEADER’ AS FAST AND AS PRECISELY AS POSSIBLE.

DEBRIEF: WE LEAD THROUGH OUR ACTIONS, NOT JUST THROUGH OUR WORDS OR THE POSITIONS WE MAY HOLD. SOMETIMES WE NEED TO BE GOOD FOLLOWERS AND SUPPORT THOSE LEADERS WE BELIEVE IN, OR THOSE WHO ARE PROMOTING CAUSES WE WANT TO SUPPORT. DID ANY FOLLOWERS DELIBERATELY MISLEAD THE STUDENT IN THE MIDDLE? WHAT MIGHT THIS TELL US?
