(TOPIC: POSITIVE EMOTION)
GET STUDENTS INTO GROUPS OF THREE OR FOUR
IN THEIR GROUPS ASK STUDENTS TO SHARE ONE THING THAT THEY REALLY ENJOYED THIS WEEK
ONCE ALL STUDENTS HAVE SHARED A “POSITIVE EVENT” WITH THEIR GROUPS ASK EACH GROUP TO CHOOSE ONE EVENT
ONCE EACH GROUP HAS CHOSEN THEIR “POSITIVE EVENT” THEY CAN HAVE A SHORT TIME TO PUT TOGETHER A CHARADE THAT DEMONSTRATES THE “POSITIVE EVENT”
ONCE ALL GROUPS ARE FINISHED, ASK EACH GROUP TO TAKE TURNS ACTING OUT THEIR CHARADE IN FRONT OF THE CLASS (REMIND STUDENTS NOT TO USE WORDS).
THE CLASS CAN TRY AND GUESS THE “POSITIVE EVENT” WHILE IT IS BEING ACTED OUT.
PURPOSE: ACTIVELY THINKING ABOUT POSITIVE THINGS THAT HAPPEN DURING THE DAY IMPROVES WELLBEING. USE THIS ACTIVITY TO GET STUDENTS THINKING AND SHARING ABOUT WHAT MADE THEM HAPPY TODAY!
