LAST LETTER

(TOPIC: BRAIN STRETCHERS)

Instructions

  • THIS IS AN ASSOCIATION GAME WHERE STUDENTS BEGIN IN A CIRCLE OR LINE.

  • THE TEACHER NOMINATES A WORD (EG CARROT). UPON HEARING A PREVIOUS WORD, YOU NAME THE FIRST WORD YOU THINK OF STARTING WITH THE LAST LETTER OF THE PREVIOUSLY HEARD WORD.

  • SO, THE FIRST STUDENT IN A ROW OR CIRCLE WOULD SAY THE FIRST WORD THEY COULD THINK OF THAT STARTED WITH THE LETTER “T”- BECAUSE CARROT ENDS IN “T”. SHE MIGHT SAY “TRACTOR” AND THEN THE NEXT STUDENTS MUST CHOOSE AN “R” WORD, AND SO ON.

PURPOSE: STRETCHING THE BRAIN, THINKING CREATIVELY ON YOUR FEET AND GETTING ENERGIZED AT THE START OF A DAY.
